On accepting life unconditionally

Happy Friday my loves! Also, a very happy national doughnut {or donut for you lazy folks} day!
I'm a bit bummed that there is not a single Dunkin' Donuts location within 50 miles of my home. They are giving away a free doughnut with any beverage purchase today. There is however, a Krispy Kreme about 20 miles from my place, and they are giving away a free doughnut to every customer. I stopped into a local doughnut shop today and they were out of glazed, one of my faves, so I passed on buying from them and plan on hunting down some better doughnuts elsewhere.

Hope you are ready for a rockin' weekend and have loads of fun plans! I will be a busy little bee, with an all day wedding, then seeing Adam Corolla live at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Saturday, and then a long day of clients on Sunday.
Because it's officially summer {even though Northern California is behind the times and is expecting thunder showers through the weekend} I wanted to remind you all to wear your sunscreen and do monthly melanoma checks on yourself.
If you are like me, you probably ADORE the nice bronze glow that comes with being tan. Maybe you are even more like me and at some point have used a tanning bed, which I did for 2 years. I realized the errors of my ways and have since stopped. I'm pretty good about applying my sunscreen everyday, but I still manage to burn every now and then when I forget to reapply, or am vain and don't want to reapply makeup on my face afterward. Know there are ways to be tan without sun exposure, I can give you my favorite brands of self-tanner even! One bad sunburn before you turn 18 doubles your chances of getting skin cancer, and tanning bed use is even worse. If it wasn't bad enough getting fine lines and wrinkles on my face at 21, I am at a much higher risk of developing skin cancer now from my stupidity earlier in life.
Watch this video, send it to everyone you know who is 16, will be 16, or was 16 years old at some point. Maybe you will be even more like me and do a little crying while you watch.
Now for your Friday bit of Audrey!

I decided, very early on, just to accept life unconditionally; I never expected it to do anything special for me, yet I seemed to accomplish far more than I had ever hoped. Most of the time it just happened to me without my ever seeking it.

  1. Love the 16 year old me video. I am so glad I am over my laying out with baby oil phase. So dumb! I am avid sun screen user these days. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Oh my gosh. I just cried. I'm a total hypochondriac, yet I act so carelessly. That video was -wow. Thanks for sharing. Life is crazy. I really want to live it.
